a comprehensive, modular hyprland configuration with automated theme management, dynamic wallpapers, and workflow scripts.
a comprehensive, modular configuration for the hyprland wayland compositor, designed to deliver a cohesive, automated, and visually integrated desktop environment with dynamic theming and workflow enhancements.
ideation
my hyprland-dotfiles was created to replace bulky, fragmented desktop configurations with a unified, automated setup tailored for daily productivity on arch linux. rather than manually tweaking individual configs for the compositor, status bar, terminal, and applications, this repository centralizes all components — including theme synchronization, wallpaper integration, and utility scripts — into a single, version-controlled system.
the goal was to design a personal environment that adapts automatically to visual context, streamlines common workflows, and remains easy to replicate or modify across machines.
implementation
the repository consists of organized configuration directories and automation scripts that configure hyprland and associated tools:
- modular scripts and handlers for theme orchestration, media controls, updates, and notifications
- dynamic wallpaper support, including animated and static wallpapers integrated via tooling like swww and waytrogen
- theme extraction and synchronization leveraging wallust to generate color schemes from wallpapers and apply them across gtk, terminals, status bars, and editors
- configuration files for key components such as hyprland itself, waybar, wofi, neovim, shells (zsh/bash), terminals (alacritty/kitty), and other utilities
- utility scripts for system maintenance, status reporting, and environment consistency across sessions
the structure promotes modularity and reusability, with shell scripting providing extensibility for power users.
key features
- automated theme extraction and system-wide color synchronization
